Chennai, Aug 26 (IANS) Tamil offbeat actor Karan is set to play a transgender in "Ardhanari", a movie that will highlight their problems."After playing college student, liquor vendor and negative roles in myriad films, I now am playing something totally different. Society is slowly becoming aware of the difficult life of a transgender and filmdom is presenting them in a favourable light now. Mine will be one more such attempt," Karan told IANS Wednesday.

Directed by N. Periyasamy, the film will be released early next year.
