Much has been written about Karan Johar's next untitled production starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Originally the film was to have also starred Saif Ali Khan, however Khan dropped out and John Abraham stepped into his shoes. Now, Rai has backed out of the project. Apparently, Ash backed out due to the script's sexual content and Priyanka Chopra will be taking her place.

Johar confirmed the development, saying "It happens. You plan a movie with one person in mind and then someone else ends up doing it. When you see the film, you’ll understand why Ash could not do it".

It's been a disappointing year for Yash Raj Films with no big universal hits so far this year (Chak De India 70% is currently only doing well at multiplexes and metros). However, they still have two releases this year. The first, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, stars Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen Sharma, Abhishek Bachchan and Kunal Kapoor and has a bold subject with Rani Mukherjee playing a prostitute.
